Lovely ancient Egyptian scarab, dating to the New Kingdom, Dynasties 18 through 20, Ca 1570 to 1070 BC. Carved steatite, glazed green with well-formed beetle incised on the base with twisted rope design in center, surrounded by various small glyphs: rising sun, "men" alter of fire means "to abide with", "hetem" representing a seal, "ra" the sun god. 16 mm x 12 mm and save small chip in near-choice condition.Ca 1570 to 1070 BCCategory:Egyptian Period:New Kingdom Material:Steatite Dimensions:16 mm x 12 mm Condition:Excellent
