Its clarity, brilliance, translucency, and molten malleability appealed to ancient civilizations just as these qualities appeal to our modern aesthetic sensibilities. This small bottle has a flattened globular body, which terminates in a narrow neck. The narrow opening suggests that it was used as a spinkler for perfumed water, such as rosewater. The surface has a purple/pearly white patina caused by weathering over the centuries which lends the surface a wonderful texture.
