Culture: Islamic. Date: 11th - 14th Century A.D. Material: Glass. Condition: Intact, slightly broken off from rim. Provenance: Ex: American private collection. Measurements: 5 inches high (12.5 cms). Of blue-teel colored glass. A pretty example of a popular class of Islamic perfume bottles. It has an ovoid body with an indented bottom. The thin neck flares out at the base and tapers inward allowing small amounts of liquid to be dispensed. Even though the tip is broken off, still a very elegant example with abundant weathering and iridescence.
