Bronze ceremonial incense shovel (- Mahta).
Early Roman Period: 1st – 2nd century AD
Such shovel is used to remove burning coals from the outer altar. The priest then carries the coals on this shovel into the sanctuary, where the coals are used on the golden incense altar.
