Greco-Roman Sculptural Fragment of an Arm - PF.1741 - For Sale

Greco-Roman Sculptural Fragment of an Arm - PF.1741
Price: $400.00
The plumpness of this little arm suggests that it originally belonged to a child, perhaps the depiction of an infant prince or an Eros. In the Hellenistic age, sculptures of children, rendered with tenderness and humor, were enormously popular. The hole drilled in this piece shows where it was attached to the larger work, but through the whims of fate only this intriguing clue remains. From the fine quality of this fragment, we can imagine the beauty of the whole. To what did this little arm point centuries ago? Today, it draws our attention toward the infinite and unstoppable march of time. - (PF.1741)
