17TH Century Circa 1664 Architectural Fountain Engraving. Published in Nuremberg, Germany in 1664 by Paul Furst. This original engraving is from the work of work by George Andreas Bockler(1648-1685)titled "Architectura Curiosa Nova." Architectura Curiosa Nova is a comprehensive 17TH-Century Overview of Fountains of Europe. It shows many examples of fountains and the differing effects that can be created by the flow of water through them. This 7 1/2" wide 11" engraving is on "soft white, chain-lined paper" that is in Excellent, Crisp Condition for a work of art that is now almost 350 years of age and there is no foxing. The last owner had this engraving professionally framed under glass with a double mat which compliments it very nicely. Carved Dark Wood Frame measures 15" X 18 1/4". A decorative dream that would fit in almost any kind of setting.
