This beautiful orchid (thought to be an Epidendrum Miserum, for those of you who care) was silkscreened in 1979 by well-known and highly-collected artist Lowell Nesbitt (American, 1933-1993), number 19 in an edition of 175. Born in Baltimore, MD, Nesbitt was a painter and sculptor who worked in many media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, prints and stained glass. He held more than 130 solo exhibitions in the U. S. and overseas, and his work is represented in the collections of over 100 museums worldwide. Pencil signed and dated, lower right; unframed. Measurements below are for the image.
