She was a Fellowship Student at the Crealde School of Art. She studied watercolor painting with Catherine Anderson. Rhea became interested in nature studies and painted frogs, orchids, grasses, insects and fish. She was a featured artist at the Heights Art Show in 2003. Rhea was commissioned to paint the ''Fish of Lake Lanier'' for a permanent exhibit at the Northeast Georgia History Museum.
