Jennie Fannie Burr,American Artists, measures 12 and 3 sixteenths inches wide by 10 and one quarter inches high outside of the frame. The image of this Burr pencilwork measures 9 and six sixteenths inches wide by 7 and six sixteenths inches high inside the frame. Fannie and Jennie Burr. 1872 to 1961 and 1858 to 1931. They were 2 of 5 children born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Their father was a very successful farmer. lthough the 2 sisters were 14 years apart, they were close. Fannie began to draw as a child. She later attended and graduated from the Yale School of Fine Arts. After that, she studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. List in Who Was Who in American Art by Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britian CT.
