Signed and dated 1881, oil on canvas, Victorian painting in a fine original frame. This lovely land and river scape depicts a stately home on the banks of a river, surrounded by lush growth and large trees. On the river is a row boat with a gentleman rowing and two female passengers. On the shore is a bench with an adult and a child. This is a very lovely, peaceful painting, done by a skilled hand. Although it is fully signed, I cannot make out the signature. The original frame is quite elaborate and retains it's original gilding in good condition. The painting has several old repairs which are only noticeable on the figure of the man rowing the boat which we have pictured. There is also some minor paint loss that is not very notable and overall the painting displays very well. 32" wide x 19 1/2" high over all, painting is 24" x 12".
