This is a splendid antique Art Deco slip shade chandelier, dating to the 1930s, in its original polychrome finish with red, green, and yellow details. The five-light chandelier begins with a polychrome canopy ornamented with acanthus leaves, coming down in a chain to a large polychrome finial ornamented with flowers, leaves, and volutes. The chandelier body is ornamented with a vibrant Art Deco design, with geometric detail, volutes, and flowers, and holds five gadrooned slip shades ornamented with vine detail. The chandelier finishes in a cream-colored finial with red and green accents. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the slipper shades, just the expected fleabites on the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This chandelier is 19 ¾” wide; the length of the chandelier body only is 18 ½”; the overall length is 36 ½”. Two matching semi-flush chandeliers are also available, item # NC868.
