Chinese Glazed Ming Statue of Quan Yin - Dated 1510 AD
A Ming statue of Quanyin colored in cream, green and ocre glazes (san-ts'ai). The Quanyin is seated on a rock formation with lotus flowers above a rectangular pedestal. The glaze has fine crazing with age. Rare to find figures of this type that are dated.
Period: Ming (Zhengde 1506-1521 AD)
Size: Height = 35 cm (13.75 inches)
Condition: There are chips and parts are missing but this does not detract from its venerable serenity.
