Price on request.A Ming statue of Quanyin colored in cream, green and ocre glazes (san-ts'ai). The Quanyin is seated on a rock formation with lotus flowers above a rectangular pedestal. Formerly she was flanked by two disciples - there is one remaining but missing and the other is missing its head and hands. The lower part of the back is left unglazed and is incised with the date that the piece was made (4th year, 12th month Zhengde which converts to the year 1510 AD) The folds of the robe are done with large bold, flowing incisions. The glaze has fine crazing with age. Rare to find figures of this type that are dated.

Period: Ming (Zhengde 1506-1521 AD)

Size: Height = 35 cm (13.75 inches)

Condition: There are chips and parts are missing but this does not detract from its venerable serenity.
