Extraordinary Chinese Export tureen on stand, in the form of an artichoke, with onglaze blue ground and gilt highlights, the stand of a small comport form with small gilt flower to the center.
Circa 1790
References: No known example could be found in the literature, although there are Continental faience examples from the mid-18th century. The blue ground is typical of later 18th century Chinese Export.
Condition: 2 leaves restored, minor wear
