Pair of ornate antique sculpted gilt bronze door decoration / protection plaques with Bacchus and wine theme. Made France, 19th century.Each is 8 1/4inch long.These ormulu plaques serve the purpose of protecting a door, under the handle where it would get the most worn. Their beauty would grace any item. They each feature the head of the god of wine and revelry, Bacchus. Very beautiful moulding and fine detail. All around him are grapes, vines and leaves.Condition is excellent. No damage of any sort.
