Eutrope Bouret is a listed French sculptor who was born in Paris on April 16, 1833 and died in 1906. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1875-1903 winning medals and honors during his career. The beautiful bronze we are offering has a lovely light to medium chocolate brown patina and is in excellent condition. She stands on a burgundy variegated marble base. She is inscribed Bouret at the bottom of the robe along the back. She's standing on a book, perhaps the Book of Knowledge. From the bottom of the book to the top of her head she measures 15-1/4 inches excluding the base. Including the base the sculpture measures 16-3/4 inches. Weight 15-3/4 lbs. Her face is beautiful as is the entire sculpture and composition. This is a rare and very beautiful sculpture guaranteed to please the most particular connoisseur. (Item #72063)
