This "Gansenmannchen", or "Little Goose Man", is a charming bronze of a peasant holding a goose under each arm, modeled after the famous fountain in Nuremberg, Germany. The fountain featuring the "Little Goose Man", was sketched as early as 1500 by Albrecht Durer of Nuremberg, Germany's most beloved painter. In 1537, Pankraz Labenwolf set up a foundry in Nuremberg, and created the fountain from about 1550 to 1560. This sculpture stands atop a bronze base with cold-painted red accents.
