Interesting pair of antique bronze sphinx furniture mounts. They are in excellent condition ready to adorn a piece of furniture. The backs are open. There is an opening where a screw would go between their feet to secure to the furniture. The sphinx measure 5 inches long and 3 inches high. They are very unusual and very well sculptured. They date circa late 1800s. The condition is excellent and they are signed on the inner portion of the wing. Please click photo enlargements for details of the markings.
