Item: A good, well cast bronze Hemony Bell of an old man in a scull cap

• Circa: Late 18th century - Early 19th century? - please peruse images

• Signature: none

• Dimensions:3.5 inches (9cm) Width x 4.25 inches (10.5cm) Height approx

• Condition: Good - genuine signs of handling, highpoint rubbing of patination - wear

originally in the casting)
A good bronze hand Bell, one of the famous Hemony Bells that has been in
production since the original famous 17th century Bell makers (these not related).
I am dating this as late 18th / early 19th century as all the signs of age are present.
The colour is a rich light chocolate (with highlights from handling).
The inscription running around the base is the normal one present on all the bells;

F. Hemony - Me + Fecit - Anno - 1569 (all written in capitals letters)

• Provenance: Private Estate / Lincolnshire / UK

Inside the bell again signs of use on both the hammer and the bottom rim where
the hammer has hit - the hammer suspension looks more recent.
Please E-Mail me any questions and please use the images.
