This is an excellent representation of this species done by the tile company Richard''s of England in the early part of the 20th century. The glazing and shading is fabulous. These birds are native to Indonesia, so it is fitting that these tiles are set into a faux bamboo frame. The condition is very good, but both tiles have a few chips, which are not very distracting. Only in business for a relatively short period between 1927 and 1936 tiles by this company are not very common. This is a thick and heavy Arts and Crafts tile that shows very well.
