Made from a WWI brass shell casing, this ingenious sugar hod has a heart-shaped hinged handle and conical base made from the pointed end of the shell. Shell has been cut with “Sweetheart” shape to the top. The shell is dated 1913, and also has “75” and and “B” )can’t read the rest of this - handle attachment has covered it. Also at the lower part of the shell rear, RS. L 1913 75 D”. The base piece has the Army arrow marking and two “B’ stamps, back to back. Item measures 15 cm high with the handle up, 16.5 cm long and 8.5 cm diameter. Very good condition (needs a polish if you like a polished finish) and quite heavy.   « Less

A stunning circa 1580 massive cutlass with a giant shell guard and a 2 ¼” wide multi-fuller blade! This great rarity would have been the battle weapon of a great warrior or fearsome pirate. Original as found condition! No restorations or repairs! Original wood grip intact with some ancient surface insect damage. It has been coated with a light coat of varnish or lacquer as a conservation application. The no nonsense blade measures 25” long by 2 ¼” wide. It displays natural lamination and great aging. This is the widest blade we have ever seen on a sword of this type. These type blades, but with a spatula tip, were uses on German katzbaldgers on the early - mid 16th century. The blade is adorned with a brass alloy inlay of the Solingen guild cross and orb mark. Absolutely gorgeous!!! A great rarity for the most discerning collection! Price is firm. The black Moroccan leather belt is sewn into a gold-plated silver bullion lace with leafs designs, mounted with a large brass buckle, slider, and belt endplate. A patent 1917 signet ring for a mom of a SON IN SERVICE. These were worn as a pinkie finger signet ring to let others know she had a loved one serving in the war. Primarily for sons in the war, also worn for daughters and husbands. The number of stars told how many were serving. Blue star-alive, red star-dead. These were worn in WWI and WWII. This ring has one blue star, an eagle on one side, and cross rifles on the other. I think it may be brass. Looks sized or mended at some point. The red, white and blue flag is enamel. Size is about 5.5. Some wear noted and shown. Marked "PAT'D 9-6-17" Agree or disagree, the following are my own views. As a no longer active Marine, I fully understand the meaning of war. Right now, I believe we're in the middle of WWIII against an unseen enemy. The enemy is claiming many lives every day, around the world. All the world's countries are involved. Millions of folks, whether in hospitals, stores, essential services, or any job ensuring the safety and sustainability of the rest of us, are soldiers on the front line in this war. They all have my respect and prayers that they stay out of harms way. Well, they all have a mom, daughter, wife, or sister.
