SOLD Antique 19th century well marked German-Saxony Model 1845.Type1.infantry sword (Infanterie – Faschinen - messer) with massive single-edged falchion style steel blade, stamped on the obverse ricasso with crown Royal Cypher JR for the, King John of Saxony 1854-1873 and on the reverse the makers logo of P.D.L.(Peter D .Luneschloss of Solingen). Cast solid brass hilt with reversed quillons, grooved grip, and dove-tail pommel with exposed capstan hilt, stamped with the Regimental Marking 12.A.F.1.114.and the Royal Cypher on the finial and the letter B with the sunburst on the reverse pommel adorned with crown Royal Cypher. REFERENCES: 1.Blankwaffen aus drei Jahrhunderten. Zeugnisse sächsischer Waffengeschichte by Klaus Hilber. 2.Hieb- und Stichwaffen by Eduard Wagner. Oak hand carved staves held together by four horizontal hand forged iron bands and two vertical bands; two iron rings and hand forged nails. A keg form canteen with two holes in the top; and with two iron carrying rings for a sling. Condition is very good; the upper most iron band is loose. This item has been SOLD. This officers hat with the characteristic square visor found on the M1935 hat, has a napped blue gray cover with red piping and a plush, black band with the WW11 enameled Red Star. The leather chin strap is original and is mounted with brass buttons bearing the Star with Hammer and Cycle. The interior lining and sweat band is in very good condition. There is a faded manufacturers stamp dated 1940 legible in the inside crown. Slight soiling and edge wear.   « Less

The Mongolian Peoples Republic Order of the Red Labor Banner. Instituted in 1926 and has only one class however the order has five types according to the date of issue. The order is issued to individuals and organizations for valiant labor etc. The award is formed as a six pointed star formed by seven rays in each point eminating from the center. The round central medallion symbolizes the sun on which is superimposed the Mongolian National Emblem. The silver gilt and enamel are in excellent condition with only light abrasion from wearing. The reverse has a center post with a screw plate and a serial number.   « Less

The wood box seems to have spaces for accessories that are missing. The sextant and a telescope sight device appear to be original to the case. The olive drap paint suggest military application but we are unclear on that point. The case size is 11.5"x11.5"x5". The sextant is approximately 9.5"x9.5".   « Less

This knife belonged to Commander William O. Walker, USN, who was one of the Commanders of the USS Lake Champlain (Champ) which has a long history herself. One of her many assignments was that she was selected as the Prime Recovery Ship of the Project Mercury Mission, the first manned Space Flight for America. Commander Walker was also an aviator, naval bomber and later in life became a Grand High Priest of the York Rite, Grand Chapter Royal Arch Mason Knights Templar, he was also a dear friend. His name "WO" and "Walker" are hand scribed on the sheath. The knife is a Military Issue "Blue Blade" made by Western Cutlery of Boulder, Colo Patent No. 1,967,479 (note photo)this tang stamp dates this knife to c1935-1950. It measures 10.25" total length, has stacked leather handle, full tang, arched pommel, and a wide blood grove. The original leather sheath has some wear with some missing stitches and a small blade cut on top of sheath opening, which I am told is quite common. Overall on great shape with a lot of the blue hue on the blade. These knives are becoming more rare and are a great addition for the military memorabilia collector. Free Domestic Shipping   « Less
