Antique, Victorian watch fob in the form of a 14carat gold dog sitting on a large gem cushion. Made 1840-80. ??? Approx length is 1 1/4 inches. Weighs 14.4grams. Base is set on a large, oval gemstone. Technically an aquamarine, but colour in natural light looks quite clear (not blue) and clearly has a number of flaws. Colette set with the top of the base having a naturalistic surface with scattered flowers. A fantastically modelled greyhound dog; he twists slightly off center in his glance. He wears a collar with links for holding a chain. The posture is perfect for depicting the superb sculpture - exquisitely fine detail showing muscles and skeleton below it, arched bridge of his nose, skinny, muscular legs typical of wind breeds and the fastest of canines. The only flaw is a tiny hole, shown magnified very largely in the pictures, but that does not detract at all in reality and is commensurate with an item of this age and delicate material. Antique Georgian swivel fob. Gilt, hardstone gems and sculpted jardinetti scene - memorial to a loved one. Made 18th century - circa 1780. Approx 1 1/8 inches accross. Triple sided fob. One side has a dark stone run through with red marbling (which we believe is called a bloodstone); one side has a creamy ground, shading to yellow with lovely soft greys and pale brown streaks and finally, the 3rd side is gilt metal, built up into the form of a jardinier full of flowers. This theme symbolised love, romance and the loss of a loved one to the Georgians. It is covered with a bevelled crystal ''window''. All sides and arch under which the sides swivel, are repousse gilt metal. Good condition. An oval with overlapping gold wirework and a pair of flowers, which we are told are bleeding hearts, with foliage. The relief flowers (or berries ) and foliage in semi-transluscent enamel - in exquisite detail. The flowers have tiny natural pearls as stems. The pin is tiny, but exquisite. The C-clasp of the pin is hallmarked with 14K and the KREMENTZ & CO logo. Very good condition. NO damage/wear/restoratioin. Extraordinary pair of antique 22 carat gold, gemset and enamel earrings or ear ornaments, called Thuria. Originate in Upper Assam, India, and worn by the upper classes in previous centuries. Measure 1 1/4 inches long. Weigh 16.4grams. A widening tube-shape attached to a skirt in floral and foliate form. The lower area, nearest the skirt is decorated with beautiful blue and green enamel work, known as minakari / meena, which is becoming very rare and difficult to find in antique pieces of jewellery. Tiny golden patterns of leaves further refine the enamel work. The underside, which would be the most visible side of the ear ornament, is set with red stones in the form of a flower. Each stone surrounded by a wall of 22k gold. The stones test as genuine (not glass or synthetic), pink topaz or spinels. Above the enamel work the broadening cylinder is similarly set with pink stones enclosed in gold, in a geometric pattern. The opposite side has a star combination of enamel and gems. Here some of the enamel is missing, as shown in the ''photos. One leaf of the ''skirt'' has also lost half of it''s enamel, but the others are perfect. The colours and design are highly reminiscent of a peacock - deep green, blue, pink and gold. These amazing ornaments would be worn in the hugely distended holes in the lobes of women''s ears 100 years ago, or more. Besides the missing enamel, mentioned above, the earrings are in very good condition. Good antique Mughal / Indian jewellery combines the wonders of ages gone by with amazing design and delicacy executed by outstanding craftsmen and is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain as it grows in appreciation throughout the world. In her book on Indian earrings, page 60-61, Waltraud Ganguly explains that the design symbolises a lotus with a heavy stem and tells us that the Victoria and Albert Museum, London owns two pairs of thuria, dated before 1880. Antique / Vintage engagement ring made of 18 carat white gold set with a golden yellow sapphire. Made circa 1940. US size 6 1/4. Weighs about 3 grams. Sapphire is very approx 80pts. Beautiful warm golden yellow sapphire set in a classic engagement setting of white gold openwork. The setting seems to lift the stone up and out, while it''s delicate and romantic design adds a great deal of interest. A light and airy feel to the openwork setting with hearts, flowers and foliage, appropriate to the engagement and wedding theme. THe inside of the band is somewhat worn, but the hallmark 18K and a W for the maker are still visible. Besides the wear, invisible when the ring is worn as it is inside the band, there is no damage and the ring looks as beautiful as special on the finger as when it was made. Vintage, estate engagement with guard ring set. Made 1950''s. US Size 7 1/4. Weigh approx 5 grams. Central diamond alone is about .8 of a carat (maybe more). Very attractive diamond engagement ring set. Mounted in 14 carat white gold. The engagement ring has a raised central large diamond, brilliant cut, surrounded by a pair of marquis cut, long diamonds that add to the elegant look of the ring and followed by a pair of round diamonds. The guard ring has similarly cut smaller stones. Rings look great and with their Classic design are sure to attract a lot of compliments. Each ring has engraved hallmarks inside: FEATURE LOCK 14K Pat F and engraved in script 12 25 57. Very good condition. We are not gemologists and cannot give technical information about stones. Bright yellow gold and vibrant blue lapis lazuli, contrasting and complimenting each other in an energetic combination of materials. The gold is further hammered, adding subtle effects. The ring is not simply round, but has a number of angles and planes, possibly not entirely symmetrical, which is typical of the work of Jean Schlumberger, who was fascinated with nature.
