Here is a wonderful C 1800 Dutch or German blown glass kuttrolf decanter, blown by the German half-post method (a double gather of glass for strength) with its original painted label nearly 100% intact! ON SALE! WAS $595. NOW $395. Here is a great rarity; a very large blown glass flask, from the mountain region of France / Spain and dating to the 18th century! These large flasks were produced in Languedoc, France and Catalonia, Spain. Undoubted by some of the same glass blowers who migrated from region to region. They are indicative to the Pyrenees Mountain region and were carried by goat herders, sheep herders, farmers and all types of other people on horses through the rough terrain. They are rare finds and to find one with its original covering is extremely rare. They were blown in the old “German half-post method†employing 2 gathers of glass. The same method was used on the American Pitkin flasks. Some of these giant flasks had plain sheared lips and some had tooled folded lips. Ours has a folded lip. It is a lovely deep aqua color with lots of swirls in glass. One of these bottles, in a lovely deep blue/green color, is pictured in the book Flasche, Bottle und Bouteille†by Rainer Kosler, page 469, see photo. Kosler dates it to the first half of the 18th century. Nice wide squat form. 10 ½†tall. Perfect! Please note: We do not accept paypal and credit cards. Here is one of the most exciting English black glass sealed wine bottles we have ever offered for sale! Probably belonged to John Smith, member of Parliament and house speaker. See Brise and Dumbrell. Wonderful early onion form with large prominent seal “I SMITH 1706”. This important sealed bottle sold in a 2004 Glassworks Auction #70, lot 115 for $8,960. Scan of auction receipt will be forwarded to buyer. English sealed wine bottles dated before 1710 are extremely rare!
