Unusual Flow Blue serving piece. Fully marked for the well know Staffordshire pottery maker J & G Alcock, Oriental Stone, this dish is in the Scinde pattern. The shape is an elongated scallop shell which forms a shallow bowl. The scene is Asian with buildings, trees and a man holding a flag. The color is deep and the glaze is nice and shiny. There are three tiny defects which I believe are original to it's making which can be clearly seen in our second photo. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Unusual covered cheese or butter dish made in the mid 19th century by the fine English porcelain manufacturer Royal Worcester for a high end Philadelphia retailer, J.E. Caldwell. The dish is a fine rich pink with an all over leaf and flower decoration in gold. The handle is also gilded. Good original condition, with wear to the gilding on the handle and a tight hairline to the base of the under-plate that does not affect its use. 4" tall x 7 1/2" diameter. Price 125. « Less
