Ban Chiang Decorated Pottery Vessel http://www.antiques.com/classified/17153/Ban-Chiang-Decorated-Pottery-Vessel This is a very nice pottery vessel from the ban chiang culture in ancient thailand, udon province (circa 200 bc). Qing Dynasty Iron Ceremonial Spear Or Polearm http://www.antiques.com/classified/17157/Qing-Dynasty-Iron-Ceremonial-Spear-or-Polearm I have seen weapons such as this one described as everything from ancient roman, celtic and chinese to medieval and on and on. Though i have been unable to find much in the way of references, i am fairly certain that this spear and others like it are ceremonial polearms from the qing dynasty. They are most likely 18th or 19th century. They have crudely decorated brass collars between the socket and blade. This one and the three others i have listed are in good condition with no signs of repair. There is surface rust, but the metal is stable overall. All four of these polearms measure roughly two feet in length. They would make a great addition to any collection and would even look great just hanging on the wall. Recently i was contacted by a customer who said that he believed that these weapons were 20th century reproductions. As of this writing i do not know if that is correct but will do my best to find out. In the mean time i will advertise them with the caveat that they may be recent production pieces..

Incredible Decorated Bronze Warring States Sword http://www.antiques.com/classified/17163/Incredible-Decorated-Bronze-Warring-States-Sword This is e specimen you that is truly of museum quality. It is a fine bronze sword (jian) dating to the warring states period of ancient china. It measures almost 62 cm (over 2 feet!) and weighs 688 grams. It has very precise decoration on the guard and concentric decor on the pommel. The guard decoration would have been inlaid with jade or turquoise. The rings on the pommel are cast so finely that even to this day they can not be replicated. The rings cut into the pommel are only 14 thousandths of an inch thick. You will see in the pics that the pommel is a slightly different color than the rest of the handle. These sword were created in three pieces (pommel, guard, handle and blade together) which were then swedged or welded together. The pommel is likely of a slightly different alloy than the other pieces of the sword which caused it to patinate differently. Swords like this often took several years to create and only when perfect would they have been presented to their royal owner. Asian bronze is becoming increasingly difficult to find. You will not likely see another one of these offered at any price. Feel free to email for additional pics or if you have any questions.

Decorated Dian Culture Bronze Dagger http://www.antiques.com/classified/17199/Decorated-Dian-Culture-Bronze-Dagger This is an interesting and rare decorated bronze dagger dating to roughly 200 bc. It has circular and linear geometric designs on the handle which are reminiscent of the dong son but the overall style and blade decoration are like some dian culture pieces. The blade is decorated on both sides and the handle decorations cover almost the entire surface. Not that the handle is cast hollow. It weighs 198 grams and measure 216 mm.
