This uniquely designed rocking cradle is on a stationary base that can also be locked into place to stabilize and be used as a crib as well and designed to use for a baby or collectible doll baby. It has a pillow mattress that is newer and ideal for using with a doll, however, to use for an infant a heavier mattress would be suggested. this is extremely sturdy and beautifully crafted and in overall excellent to superb condition considering it's age, with the exception of a repair made to the front rocker. Selling with sideboard buffet that is not part of the set but matches quite nicely. Chairs are newly re-upholstered by "the legend", charles haynes, in a beautiful peacock blue and metallic gold embossed fabric in a leaf like pattern, with 2" firm church pew or auto seat quality foam. Set appears to be circa 1920's. Wood of the dining room set is unknown but appears to be walnut. The sideboard buffet appears to be walnut or cherry. The buffet is beautifully carved in a scallop pattern trim along the top and bottom with a beveled wood top, two center dovetail drawers and two inlaid panel side doors for storage. Hardware knobs and pulls appear to be brass. Please see pictures for details. condition: dining room set is very good to excellent. Some minor wear is visible to the finish along a portion of the edge of the table, however, the overall condition of the wood itself is excellent with no major scratches, gouges or cracks discovered on any of the pieces. The sideboard buffet has some surface wear to the finish and a surface scratch on the right side panel along with surface wear to a portion of the legs. Considering these have been in use for almost 100 years, their condition has been remarkably preserved. measurements: table: 53.5" long x 42" wide x 29" tall. The design of these chairs date back to about the 14th. Century. see below an excerpt from the site http://architect.Architecture.Sk/eliel-saarinen-architect/eliel-saarinen-architect.Php eliel saarinen architect ~ "the 50-year career of eliel saarinen (1873-1950) can be divided into two parts. Practicing in finland for 25 years, he first established an international reputation based on his "national romantic" and jugendstill-inspired architecture. The second phase of eliel saarinen's career began when he emigrated to the united states in 1923, after placing second the 1922 chicago tribune tower competition. While practicing in the united states, eliel saarinen also assumed the role of educator, first at the university of michigan and then at the cranbrook academy of art. Eliel saarinen not only designed the cranbrook complex but, under his stewardship, it became one of the most influential design schools in the nation." cranbrook academy was founded by george and ellen booth, of the 1800's. the wood carvings on these regal chairs appear to be done by hand and are bold and intricate with a rose pattern adorning the bottom of the seats. The master chair has beautiful carved arms and both chairs have carved cobra like scroll corner spires. The wood frame is of unknown origin, but could be walnut, mahogany or cherry. according to cranbrook's website found at http://schools.Cranbrook.Edu/podium/default.Aspx?T=109951 "in 2006, julie fisher cummings, kâ73, and her husband, peter cummings, contributed the lead donation of $5 million to pave the way for the cranbrook kingswood middle school for girls â kingswood." since mrs. Cummings was a former student of kingswood she herself may have enjoyed sitting in these chairs when a student. Their donation was reported to be the largest single donation since the school's founders financed the school in the early 20th. Century. condition: these chairs are upholstered in the original leatherette material, that has been refurbished and dyed in it's original color. There is some visible wear on the front and top of the seat and back of the side chair. The master chair shows some wear on the front of the seat. all is original with the exception of the cambric covering underneath and tied springs. the wood frames are in very good to excellent condition with no major visible damage with the exception of the right cobra like scroll top spire on the side chair which has been partially broken off.

Original ceramic casters are on all four legs. condition: very good overall, gently pre-owned antique table with no major visible scratches, dents, cracks or gouges in the wood or finish, with the exception of some dark markings on the top of the table, which could be removed with sanding and re-staining. Also, on one of the legs there are two small white marks that appear to be paint. See pictures. the circa for this table is the late 1800's and has been in use and, therefore, should be taken in to consideration. The unique curved back spindle design provides a more comfortable fit for the back. This is not your average rocker by any means. To warp the wood to curve the back took skill and patience. You won't find this type of rocker again. At first we thought the circa to be about 19th. Century, however, the more we look at the way the wood was put together (similar to dovetail drawers indicating the age) it could even be 18th. Century. condition: frame is solid in good condition considering it's age and that it has been in use. There are several dark marks and dents on the arms, seat and back along with cracks on the front and top of the back and some scratches and pitting in the seat. It also appears there were two metal support rods added at the sides by the arm spindles. This is a very old original piece that was enjoyed for many years of which fact should be taken into consideration. There are many more years of enjoyment this rocker is just waiting to provide. This item is sold,please look at our other ads. this is a large, framed, silk screened tapestry made in england of the famed tibor reich 1967 "a tournament" collection, design 322, done in a tan background with black, orange, white and gold, which is less common than the other color combinations available. tibor reich (1916-1996) designed this collection for his stratford-upon-avon shakespeare series of 1967. see our ebay listing for more information on tibor reich collections. this tapestry was framed at burmingham art gallery in birmingham, michigan owned by john mckinney as noted by the label on the back of the piece. Sadly, research on mr. Mckinney and his gallery revealed he was the senseless victim of murder by gunshot in his gallery in november 1977 at the age of 50, and remains unsolved to this day. This item is sold, please look at our other ads. this is a very gently pre-owned, beautiful and very elegant two-piece victorian oval wash bowl and pitcher set painted with purple violets and white lilies of the valley, made in england. The exact circa and manufacturer is unknown, however, similar sets date between 1890 - 1920. The pitcher is painted with a spray of violets and lilies of the valley on the front with a flitting butterfly. The back has a different pattern without butterfly. The shape of the pitcher widens at the bottom. There is a raised embossed filigree pattern in the porcelain at the bottom and a center wreath ribbon pattern just below the rim of the top with a small cluster of violets in the middle of the wreath on the front. The back has the same embossed pattern without the added violets in the middle. It has a beautiful scalloped top and spout. This set comes with an oval bowl, which is not as commonplace as the round bowls most come with. There are several clusters of violets on the inside of the bowl and a larger cluster on the outsides. In my humble opinion, this is one of the prettiest sets we've come across in such remarkable condition. condition: very good to excellent! There are no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. It has been used, therefore, some of the gold foil paint around the rim of the bowl and pitcher are worn off in areas. There is also some inherent marks in the glaze from manufacture as this set is likely hand painted, such as a smudge like mark under the pour spout of the pitcher on the front and a blue dot on the bottom front side of the pitcher. Please see pictures for details. measurements: the pitcher stands at 12" tall x 8.5" wide at the bottom. From the tip of the spout to the handle is 10". The lime green base and neck have beautiful embossed designs in the porcelain. Circa is 1900-1933 according to it's stamp on the bottom. See below. Information on josef strnact jr., found at porcelainmarksandmore.Com states the following: bohemia / teplitz-turn (today teplice-trnovany):[1] : terracotta-, majolica- und fayencefabrik josef strnact (1881 until 1934) founded by josef strnact junior in 1881 the terracotta, majolica and faience factory in the former austrian town of turn-teplitz (located 50km south of dresden, germany) was an instant success because of its wide product range. It included faience and majolica vases, garden pieces like flowerpots and pillars, umbrella stands, tobacco jars, mantel clock casings and continued over weaved and open worked stoneware like baskets and flower receptacles up to terracotta wall-pictures and a series of letters, which were made of majolica and used for company signs (system was patented by strnact). strnact opened a subsidiary in geisingen (near schaffhausen in baden-wuertemberg) in the year 1902 which was named 'terracotta-, majolica- und fayencefabrik strnact junior'. To cope with the rising demand, strnact purchased the ceramic factory of anton heller in turn-teplitz in 1909 and up to 1910 his factories there alone employed over 300 people. in the late 1920s, karl zöttlein and josef pachmann became authorised signatories after strnact slowly began to retire and in 1934 the complete business including the studio in geisingen was taken over by the businessmen mr. And a 'flower' on a shield. condition: very good to excellent! There are no cracks or chips, however, the handles have been repaired with only slight notice to the right handle. Otherwise, this remarkable and stunning piece is in superb condition, considering it's age. It has hand carved spiral barley twist upright spindle legs with rectangular shaped blocks at top and bottom of each leg. Exact wood unknown. condition: very good gently pre-owned table overall, with no major visible scratches, dents, cracks or gouges in the wood legs or finish. There are a few minor surface dents on the rim of the brass table top and a crack in the brass starting on the rim and continuing along the side by one of the large button like decorations, with a small piece missing. See pictures for more details. the exact circa for this table is unknown but an educated guess puts it in the late 1800's. This has been in use and, therefore, should be taken into consideration. According to the meriden historical society this is thought to be style 1180 from the charles parker co. 1911 catalog. unlike most piano stools, this has a straight ladder like back and is an actual chair, not just stool. Exact wood is unknown, but possibly cherry or maple. Solid wood button trim adorns the edge of the seat and back panels. if you're a piano player looking for a one of a kind seat, this is it. A real conversation piece and piece of history. condition: excellent. There are no major scratches, gouges or dents in the wood, however, there is some minor wear to the finish on the front below the seat. Mantle or table clock on a solid black marble base. Two bronze painted metal gazelles or deers flank both sides with two smaller marble circles, along with two small matching circular garnitures also on a black solid marble base. condition: very good considering the age, but there is some oxidation on the noses of the gazelles as well as the right leaf sprig. Around the rim of the clock there are three areas with patina, as well as by the hinge, which needs tightening. It just needs a little cleaning to remove the patina and oxidation and perhaps a little touch up. there are some chips in the marble on the top back of the two garnitures, as well as on the edges of the garniture bases, base of the clock and under the circular marble centerpiece . Please see the pictures and visit our ebay listing for additional pictures. the clock runs well, but may need a minor adjustment after shipping. The windup key is missing. This set is very heavy since it is solid marble which is the main price evaluator. It's truly a beautiful work of art that will adorn any home with it's style and elegance. measurements: base of clock is 24.5" long x 9.5" tall to the top of the center circle x 3" wide. The gazelle/deers stand 7.5" tall. The marble center circle with the clock is 9" in diameter and the clock face is 6" in diameter. The two small garnitures stand at 4.5" long x 5" tall x 2.5" wide.
