Original backplates and original shades. the contrasting metals of the backplates just scream "streamline deco" to the max. The contrasting cast iron frame with the nickel plated steel elements are so very striking. Naturally, with 80 or so years of life, the nickel is not perfect and has very minor imperfections. Just goes with the age. But even these age marks are not serious and do not affect the overall impact of the sconces. these sconces have been completely re-wired with all new sockets and wired to ul standards. The switch is below the fitter cup holding the shade instead of on the backplate, adding to the attractiveness of the lights. Mounting hardware will be supplied as shown. measurements: the overall sconce height is 9". The maximum width is 6 1/2", which is the shade width. It will project from the wall 7". $350.00 for the pair... Plus shipping.

Frankelite Co. Chandelier Circa 1933 (ant-98) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137260/Antique-Frankelite-Co--Chandelier-Circa-1933--ANT-98- Art deco slip shade chandelier by a firm in cleveland, ohio called: the frankelite co. Frankelite had a logo which was a stylized "f" in a diamond device and issued their products under the trade name of "f" diamond lighting equipment. This light, circa 1933, was part of their "fenwick series". This chandelier was model 1255. Their 1930s catalog says it has a spread of 21". frankelite was a rather small firm that very little is known about. We have a few examples of their work, and they are always rather unique and attractive stand alone lights. The name and date of these fixtures has been verified by literature from the company as 1933. authentic art deco, slip shade, polychrome painted 5 shade chandelier. The finish, while being cleaned up "a mite," is original and simply beautiful to the max. You cannot find a much better slip shade chandelier than this one. wonderful condition. The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition. Probably made by consolidated glass or another quality glass house. We re-wired it in our ul shop and it was simply neat to work with a nice chandelier like this one. measurements: the overall hang height is 28" but it could be shortened another 2" by removing chain links. The fixture has a spread of about 21". this fixture can be lengthened or shortened by adding, or subtracting, chain links. price: $1,200.00 plus shipping

Electrified Kerosene Fluid Oil Lamp (ant-246) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137271/Antique-Electrified-Kerosene-Fluid-Oil-Lamp--ANT-246- A double-hanging kerosene fluid lamp from the late victorian or early edwardian era. Circa 1880 to 1900. this quality light had a great reservoir in the center of the light which was easy to fill and long lasting. There is also some storage on each burner array. would guess that this light was popular in a retail shop environment since the burner size is large and the duration was significant. Other locations could be kitchens, restaurants, hallways or offices. Amazing that it has survived the various modernisations over the years. we have not touched the original finish and it is still the way we obtained it. The oil burners have been converted to electric some years ago by others so the clear glass funnels are gone but the shades remain nicely in their original holders. We actually had to re-wire this light since the older conversion wiring was due for change. measurements: price: $595.00 which includes the shades. Shipping is extra.

Arts & Crafts (craftsman) Low Ceiling Lighting Fixture (ant-261) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137272/Antique-Arts---Crafts--Craftsman--Low-Ceiling-Lighting-Fixture--ANT-261- Older arts & crafts (craftsman) low ceiling lighting fixture. At this time, two of these are available and we are very pleased with their condition. circa 1920-40, the slag glass panels are in great shape. The steel frame has aged and is rustic in nature. We have not touched it and believe it should be left alone, but the final decision would be the customer's. measurements: these hexagonal fixtures measure 15" wide across the flats and 17 1/2" across the points. The fixture is a mere 7 1/4" in height. Each fixture contains two light bulbs. There is a note inside the housing that recommends not to exceed 150 watts per bulb. There is also an aluminum reflector inside the housing to reflect & boost the power of each light bulb which we think is pretty clever. Nicely done. the bottom panel is secured with two fitter screws. When unscrewed, the bottom, which is on a hinge, opens to reveal an easy re-lamping format. these lights have all been re-wired in our ul shop and are ready for installation. price: $295.00 which includes the art glass panels. Lovely Pair Of Circa 1920 Wall Sconces (ant-233) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137274/Antique-Lovely-Pair-of-Circa-1920-Wall-Sconces--ANT-233- Lovely pair of circa 1920 wall sconces. Original backplates and original shades. these sconces have a formal edwardian ambiance having a pewter look but with a more restrained backplate design that is so typical of the edwardian design style. Almost reminds you of an art nouveau, but, not quite. the original shades are simply unique. We believe them to be english as they are made of the finest glass, and then hand decorated with a bit of decal and painted designs. We believe the shades to be english since the mounting hole has a metal adapter to convert the hole normally used in england for their bayonet pin socket, an alternative to our american method of slip-in shades used at this time. There are very minor flakes to the shades. It is normal 90 year wear and tear, so very minor, but we have to mention it. the metal of the backplates is cast zinc and aluminum with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...Nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. These sconces have been completely rewired with true bakelite sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches, made by leviton in the 20's...And still made up to one year ago. So these switches by leviton are becoming more rare as we note this. measures: 10" high, 4 3/4" wide at widest point; projects 5 1/4" from wall. price: $ 325.00 for the complete pair plus shipping

Monumental knights Helmet Light. Circa 1920+ (ant-235) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137275/Antique-Monumental----Knight---s----Helmet-Light----Circa-1920---ANT-235- Monumental "knight's helmet" light. Circa 1920+. It has a nice old-gold and black contrasting color scheme. The lovely, hand-blown opaline glass shade is simply gorgeous. It measures a whopping 14" diameter at the top and borders on 14" tall as well. Overall...As pictured...The light has a total drop of 42". It could be lengthened or shortened just slightly by adding/removing the 4 lateral chains. we completely rewired this wonderful light completing the ul standards with the addition of a copper ground wire. The socket we installed is a mogul socket. This could be used for bulbs up to and including 500 watts...But we liked the idea of installing our 40 watt "induction light bulb" which gives out a 264 incandescent watt equivalency for only 40 watts of electricity draw. And it lasts thousands of hours longer than incandescent bulbs. It is included in the price of the light. measurements: the overall chandelier height is 42". The maximum width is 16". $984.50 each (complete with shade and induction light bulb) ... Plus shipping.

Lincoln Presentation Quality Slip Shade Chandelier Circa 1935 (ant-112) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137276/Antique-Lincoln-Presentation-Quality-Slip-Shade-Chandelier-Circa-1935--ANT-112- The most over-used word in the antique lighting trade is the word "rare". It is so over used for common things that when an authentic rare item comes along, the word tends to lose its punch. Since it is not in any catalog or reference book that we have in our library, it needs to be attributed by the elements of its design & construction. We, probably better than most, are most able to do this. this lincoln chandelier we believe, is a presentation piece. It was probably given to outstanding dealers or wholesalers as a reward for achievement of great sales. Of course, it might also have been given to retiring executives of the company sort of like the gold watch reward. Like the quality of engraved winchester rifles, it has an amount of detail very much above the norm for a production piece. we believe it was made by lincoln manufacturing who were one of the biggest makers of slip shade lighting in america and even sold to sears. We "know" lincoln design and castings quite well having handled hundreds of their various products. attributes we recognize different from virden or markel or acme or frankenlite or halcolite or globe: 1: the fixture is aluminum...Lincoln mnf was a aluminum foundry rather than cast iron or cast zinc, or even cast bronze. 2: the design motifs and shade holding panels are similar, mechanically, to lincoln designs such as the fleur-de-lis. 3: the color and reliefs are similar to lincoln designs and you can almost feel the elements from their head designer in this piece. It does go that extra mile for great design. 4: each casting is marked with a part number. Lincoln did this exclusively and other manufacturers did this very seldom. 5: only lincoln made two other lights where the shade could be used bulb side up..Or..Down. the shades are just so fantastic. Heavy custard glass with deep reliefs. Can be used two ways depending on preferences. Very minor roughness in keeping with the fixture's age. Simply "wow" pieces of glass by themselves. measurements & wiring: totally re-wired with new sockets and wire. Ready to hang and we will supply all the necessary parts to do so easily. It is 31" tall. That large stem decoration really adds to the height. If a longer drop (height) is desired, we can add a bit of extra chain. It has an 18" diameter. If you need a shorter chandelier, it can be shortened to 24" by removing the stem decoration and some chain links. $3,200.00 plus shipping. An excellent price for this rare slip shade presentation chandelier attributed to lincoln mnf., circa 1935.

French Art Deco Chandelier (ant-257) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137277/Antique-French-Art-Deco-Chandelier--ANT-257- Nice original 1930`s french art deco chandelier complete with original shades and nickel finished metal frame. Very nice condition with a significant lighting ability. We would call this streamline art deco. this fixture demonstrates an interesting design concept. This is where the center shade is mounted to each of the four arms, treating them like the fitter for this main centered shade. Works and is more unusual than most. electrical: the fixture has been totally re-wired in our ul shop. Each of the four outside shades has a candelabrum type socket for candelabrum bulbs. The center large shade has a three light cluster that accepts normal medium based bulbs. If you used normal maximum bulbs in each chandelier socket, you could have a total of 540 watts of lighting. This assumes a 60 watt bulb in each candelabrum socket and 3 bulbs of 100 watts in the center shade. Many folks would use less wattage. this fine chandelier has been modified in three ways from the french original. Its sockets were changed from european to american. It was re-wired with ul approved wiring. It now mounts with american style mounting hardware to an american electrical box. all in all, a very nice french streamline deco chandelier ready to hang. chandelier price with shades: $1,650 plus shipping.

Restored Silverized Chandelier C1900 (ant-242) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137351/Antique-Restored-Silverized-Chandelier-c1900--ANT-242- With the look of a 1900's chandelier, we offer this outstanding "silverized" chandelier. The style of this chandelier is more like edwardian than victorian but it keeps the "gasolier" look to it. We added our fine cut glass shades since they most resemble the single broken one we received with the light. I can see so many different elements in the design, it seems that it would blend with many decorative schemes: i.E arts and crafts or edwardian and even art deco. While it does appear to mimic "gasolier" style, it was never gas. While the figures seem to suggest deco, it could also be bountiful harvest. All in all....It simply is a fascinating antique fixture, definitely 1900-1930. very imposing and definitely a subject for around the table conversation if it were to be placed over a dining table. measures: 49" tall with a width of 32". It could be shortened as those three support rods could be trimmed. But, if over a dining table...We would encourage leaving it at its present height. And we have re-wired this light to ul standards with new sockets and wiring. Ready to hang. Price: $1,750 with shades shown, plus shipping.

Pair Of Wall Sconce Lights C1920 (ant-136) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137352/Antique-Pair-Of-Wall-Sconce-Lights-C1920--ANT-136- What an interesting pair of sconces these are. While they are simply lovely, they are also a bit of a puzzle. They could have been custom made since the shades are circa 1920-30 crackle glass, but the steel and iron fixtures seem more recent. the shades are hand blown "art" form and are slightly different shapes and sizes. Each one fits its own sconce. This is another reason we believe that these were hand made, for a particular place for a particular client. Regardless of how they came into being.....The decorative effect is stunning. ready to go...Nothing needs to be done except add the light bulb. These sconces have been completely rewired and are supplied with all the mounting hardware. Each sconce does have its own switch which is identical to the ones used in 1910. It's hard to tell it was even replaced. measurements: the overall sconce height is 15 ½". The back plate measures 3" wide x 11" tall. The widest width is the shades which...Depending on where you measure them, will vary. But a maximum of 7 ½" is about the widest. The project into the room from the wall about 8 ½". price: $325.00 for the pair, plus shipping.

Williamson & co., and marketed in the 1930s by beardslee, who had bought the williamson company for their excellent designs. every lovely decorated metal panel of this great light is impressed with the rw&co logo. This particular rw mark is so early, we believe it was made before the purchase by beardslee, since later marks spelled out the entire name, instead of using the company's initials mark. what a gorgeous fixture and in such wonderful condition. All parts are present, nothing missing. Shades are in remarkable condition and the fixture has been totally rewired in our ul shop. at present, this light has a drop of 27 1/2 inches. There are six sockets inside with 3 sockets lighting the top half of the ball and 3 sockets lighting the bottom half of the ball. Architectural Bronze Outdoor Sconces (ant-262-157) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137640/Antique-Architectural-Bronze-Outdoor-Sconces--ANT-262-157- We bought eight of these fantastic, very large, outdoor lights from one estate. They are simply a wow for impressions. Made from a brass/bronze material, they do have a mixed reddish bronze finish and the detail for these old castings, meant for outside, is pretty good with some age considerations. They do vary a bit as all old castings will. We have totally rewired these and also added a water protection fitter which helps channel rainwater away. We changed the poorly designed mounting options and now they mount with 3 lag bolts that have decorative theft deterrent caps. You can see the 3 caps that go over the lag bolts, on the back plate. There are three of them. these sconces are big and heavy and get bigger and heavier with the shades that are chosen to go with them. measurements: the backplate is 21" tall by 9" max wide before shades are added. The light protrudes 15" before shades are added. ant-262-157 has a final height of 27" tall by 10 1/2" wide and a 17" projection. Price: $1,350.00 plus shipping. This does include the shade. at this time, we have two of these fixtures only. When they are gone...They are gone.

Very striking. Pictures seem to be showing a mostly "old gold" color...But there really is more of a copper touch to this finish than "old gold". this fixture could be lengthened or shortened by adding/subtracting chain links. the chandelier has been totally rewired with high grade sockets and new central lead wire. A frosted center set off by two sections of amber. Due to their age, there is a place "or two" where there are very minor flakes to the shades where they fit into the holder (not seen). It is normal 90 year wear & tear and so very minor, but we have to mention it. the metal of the backplates is cast white metal with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...Nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. These sconces have been completely re-wired with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches, made by leviton in the 20's...And still made up to one year ago. Pair Of French 5-light Large Outstanding Sconces, Circa 1910-20+ (ant-266) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137703/Antique-Pair-of-French-5-light-Large-Outstanding-Sconces--Circa-1910-20---ANT-266- Pair of very impressive french, 5-light, large outstanding sconces, circa 1910-20+. these impressive wall statements are 40" tall. They are also 17 1/2" wide (shade tip to shade tip) and will project into the room 10" to 13" depending on which shade you measure. each sconce weighs in at about 30 pounds. we completely re-wired these french sconces and removed the french sockets to convert them to our american bulbs and current. the mounting of these sconces is more unique than normal. That shield medallion, on the backplate between the four arms, hides the main mounting device. The medallion itself is held onto the backplate by one slotted ball-screw just visible in the picture. Behind the medallion, the mounting device uses a large bore 3/8 nps all-thread to a heavy duty specially made crossbar which we will supply. A completely sophisticated mounting and finish for a great pair of french sconces. we think it is an excellent choice for an area needing a significant pair of sconces. this fixture comes complete with our neat little candle style 35c-e26 led bulb. This little 2 watt bulb produces almost as much light as a 25 watt incandescent bulb but only nibbles at the electricity. And....It lasts 30,000 hours. We naturally carry replacements if an accident, or a matching option, deems necessary at some time in the future. $2,250 for the complete pair with shades and led bulbs plus shipping.

Fabulous Williamson Art Deco Five Slip Shade Chandelier (ant-274) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1137708/Antique-Fabulous-Williamson-Art-Deco-Five-Slip-Shade-Chandelier--ANT-274- This fantastic chandelier cost a whopping forty dollars in the 1930s when the depression was in full swing. This fact comes from the williamson catalog that we have, which also tells us that this chandelier was part of an exclusive line designed by williamson that they dubbed ....The series thirty line. This 5 light model was the top of the line exclusive model in that line. There was no 6 light model made. Other lights in this same line cost as much as 2/3rds less. Interesting. okay...That is some history...Now about this light itself. This light was painstakingly re-wired in the exact same manner as williamson created it, and hence, it is really a fine job. It is now current ul standard and ready to install. This fine light has the original cast-in williamson signature behind each shade. Williamson was later bought out by beardslee who changed this signature even in the 1930s to their own name, so this is one of the earlier ones. while the body is cast iron, it is painted so nicely with contrasting art deco poly-chrome colors that it gives the impression that this light simply does crown a room for atmosphere and style. Naturally, after 80 odd years, the finish is not new and does show it's age here and there....But....The colors are in outstanding in condition after all this time. measurements: the light measures 28 inches in height while having a diameter of 17 1/2". The shades are in great condition. They are substantial shades with some thicknesses approaching 1/4" thick. The pictures speak well of the light and if you have been looking for a very special light, this might just be it. price: $1,375.00 plus shipping.

American Large Wall Sconce (ant-282) http://www.antiques.com/classified/1138456/Antique-American-Large-Wall-Sconce--ANT-282- A larger than normal two panel wall sconce. The sconce has a little age to it...Say 30 or so years old. The detail of the castings are precision because they are made with a very large die cast machine. Being manufacturers ourselves, we recognize the method. The brass plating is nicely aged for that look. We bought the contents of a theatre from a demo contractor and ended up with 20 of these beauties. Here are the first two. the cut glass panels are simply amazing. Yes, cut glass...Not pressed. You change the light bulbs by sliding one glass panel up to reveal the socket. The top and bottom are open for heat dissipation to protect the glass. You cannot see these openings since the top and bottom decor go way past them. electrical: the fixture has been totally re-wired in our ul shop. Inside the case, there is a double socket that takes two normal everyday medium base bulbs. We recommend tubular desk lamp bulbs called t10âs and we will supply these for each sconce purchased.
