The body is divided into two broad band with free flow painting of lotus leave on the upper band and lotus flowers on the body band. Within the two wide band, it is ringed with a centre thick line with two thinner lines all around it. All this is painted in a dark rustic brown colour. overall in good condition. No repair, restoration, crack or chip. In picture no. 3, the arrows shows darken some black spots which is the result of the ashes sticking to the glaze during firing. It stands on a slightly short footrim with a recess base. The outer ring of the footrim is shaved inward. From the footrim, it slightly curved outwards to a bulb like body with a wide open mouth rim. The cover of the jar has a tradition chinese rooftop design. The top of the roof has a ruyi like or cloud design and the four corners of the roof has a raised tile and at the end it, it curved back upward. The footrim and the base of the grain house reveal a whitish fine clay indicating that it could originate from the hutian kiln. the conditions are shown in photographs no. 3 and 5. It is very well carved with many fine details. It even has the name of the mountain with scrolling heavenly clouds at the top and then with the pine and bamboo tress set behind a mountainous background. There are cranes flying and resting on the pine tree. Below the pine tree are several deers roaming and some are resting. Even all the small details are finely curved. For example in picture no. 3 the body of the deer are curved with a star like spot. There is even a small deer chewing on a lingzhi. The next picture shows two small lingzhi sprouting out of the mountainous rock. The crane, pine tree and the bamboo tress are all finely carved in great details. This three dimensional and layered effect of the brush pot looks like it is the work of a master craftman. Perfect in detail and finess. A very beautiful and fine piece of work of art. The bamboo brush looks much better visually because of the three dimension and layered effect than the photographs here. An excellent piece of work of art. Cir. It is painted very densely with shades of enameled pink, yellow, blue, brown, white and green with multitude of flowers and plants. It includes peonies, lotus, hydrangea, chrysanthemum, narcissus, daisies, lily, hibiscus, iris and several other flowers covering the entire plate in black background, with the foliage and gold tendrils binding all the flowers together. While it is common to find the mille fleurs in famille rose colour in the shape of bowl, plate and vase, such elegantly painted plate in famille noir is a bit harder to come by and thus it is quite rare. The plate is dated to the guangxu period (1875-1908), with a iron red six characters reign mark. This plate is likely to be from the early 20th century of his reign. aside from minor manufacturing flaw,there are some minute glaze fritting on the black colour of the glaze. It does not in anyway affect the aesthetic of the plate at all. It blends in very well into the colour scheme and the glaze fritting is not obvious at all. Glaze fritting and wear are a common sign of ageing for antiques. They represent poverty, wealth, aristocracy, plebianism, age, youth, masculinity and feminity. At 12 o'clock, the two emblems represent li tiequai (gourd)and han xiangzhi (flute). At three o'clock the emblems represent lan caihe (basket of flowers)and he xiangu (lotus). At 6 o'clock, it represent zhang guolao (bamboo tube) and cao guojiu (castanets). Finally at 9 o'clock, the emblems represent zhongli quan (fan) and lu dongbin (sword). All the emblems are partially gilded. In the centre of the dish, there is a pair of peaches, repesenting longevity and a wufu, the five fortunes surrounded by the lotus leave. It has a honorific "cheng hua" four character mark to the base of the rim. It also has a gilded scalloped shaped rim. Cir. Late 19th century. Behind the back of the pillow, there is a small hold to let the hot air out during the firing of the pillow. there is no repair or restoration. It stand on a step and waisted hexagonal plinth with six feet. The right hand of the palaquin bearer or attendant is resting on his chest with the long sleeve covering the arm, exposing only the hand. The other arm is within the long sleeve. The slash at the waist is unglazed, exposing a slightly redish clay. there are some abrasion and minor chip which can be expected from funerary objects. The white plaster at the right hand of the attendant has sign of degradation as shown in the first picture of photograph no.4. There are no other major damages, repair or restoration.
