Forming a rolled, molded lip, ring base. Dated from, 800 - 586 bc inscriptional evidence has enabled archaeologists to reconstruct that at least one product decanters were used for was wine. One possible translation of an inscription on a decanter from lachich suggests it stored dark or smoked wine. A second lachish decanter bears the inscription"extract (or wine) of black raisins".
