Frank m. Hamilton was a member of the california watercolor society, and is in the "who's who in american art" for 1978. He was a noted watercolor painter in califonia, and also painted in gouache, which i believe this painting is. It was passed on to me through my parents estate, i was there when it was purchased from the challis gallery, in the late 60's or no later than 1975, as that is when i moved out on my own. It is coming from a smoke-free environment. As one picture shows, it has a chip in frame, somehow occurring in transport to
my home in oregon. I do not have the receipt, just my fathers note that he had paid $650 on purchase date.

Seepee ipeelie (1940-2000) is an artist born in 1940, this is marked as #104. 4.5" tall, 7.25" long and 2 3/4 " across.
seepie ipeelie is the son of nuveeya ipeelie, a famous carver as well. They are from iqaluit, nunavut territory, canada. My dad was a "fire watcher" (not of native indian descent) in the 40's near anchorage, alaska. He had so many fond memories of his time there, and when he married my mom and they settled down in california, they continued to travel throughout alaska and canada, the more remote the area, the better. This item was purchased in 1993, and sat in a curio cabinet until my remaining parent passed away last nov. This was in a smoke-free environment, there are no chips or dings, the tusks are perfect. My mom did glue 4 pieces of green felt on bottom of hooves, so that it could sit on surface without scratching. I have seen others in this collection go for wild amounts on auction, upwards of $3,800. But would be satisfied with much less, would like to see it go to good home or collector. Shipping and insurance paid by myself.

This was brought home from a vacation to europe, and has sat for decades in our family's
curio cabinet. She is in great condition, no chips or scratches, her official title i found on lladro website, issued in 1973, and retired in 1992. The sculptor was antonio ruiz, and i rather like his style compared to some of the newer modern pieces. She stands 6 1/2" tall and 9" long. Prices go for considerable more, however i have inherited quite a few collections and money is not an issue.
