Fine early Art Nouveau or Late Victorian cast iron umbrella or cane stand. This charming and useful piece is done in a naturalistic motif and is far less heavy and more graceful then the usual. The narrow back undulates like a growing vine. The base or "drip pan" is slightly asymmetrical and also naturalistic in design with flowers and a central stylized male face with mustache and goatee. Excellent detail and original patina. Very fine original condition with no damage or repairs. Unmarked. 27 1/2†tall x 11†wide x10 1/2†deepest.
