Description: The breastplate and girth from a fine 19th century Argentine or Uraguayan Gaucho horse dress tack framed in a shadowbox frame backed by velvet.
Provenance: Ex Uraguayan collection
Additional Information: Because Gauchos were largely nomadic there was a strong tradition using precious metals such as silver in horse tack because gauchos would always carry all of his wealth with him when he was out in the pampas. Items with gold inlay were of finer quality.
