Collection of 10 rare 17th century historic English tavern tokens. #CC44
A very nice collection of rare English tavern tokens from the 1600’s. Most have the tavern name, the tavern keeper’s initials and date. Some have really nice art work such as St George slaying the dragon, suns, moons, kings, etc. Most were found with metal detectors in England. Photos are high resolution. Please enlarge photos for detail. The coins are photographed under plastic so they will have more detail when in hand. They are made from bronze or copper and are all considered rare. These rare tokens will make a nice go-with for the 17th century collection or the black glass collector who has an interest in tavern bottles. This collection represents a 30 year endeavor on the part of the English gentleman who owned them and were one of his most cherished possessions.
