Outstanding 1935 Gibson L50 Archtop Guitar and Original Case, One Owner! #G43
Price: $2500.00
Here is a very clean example of a great pre-war Gibson. No chips, no cracks, no neck reset, no touch-ups, neck straight as an arrow, low action, original frets in excellent shape, great tone, original finish, original Grover tuners are flawless, original case in very good condition with provenance of the original owner who was from up-state New York, A Navy Lieutenant, served in WWII and served in Korea!!! (a letter with full details is included with guitar)
Beautiful bright orange/tobacco sunburst finish on front.
Comfortable V profile on neck. No finish flaking or chips, only some age finish crazing on face (near treble f-hole and beneath strings) that just adds to the guitar’s beautiful age patina. Some very minor wear on back of neck. Original case is excellent for its age and original handle is intact, but we do not want to chance having it break with such a beautiful guitar inside so we had an auxiliary sailor’s knot rope handle made right next to it which can be easily removed. We thought this fitting as the original owner was a navy man. The original tortoise shell cellulose pick guard had crystallized over time and pieces of it were in the case compartment when we purchased it. We saved a few larger pieces and will pass them on if you want them. We had a new guard made from 1/8 acrylic tortoise shell and it looks great. If you don’t like it you can easily remove it and add whatever guard you like!
This guitar is a solid 9-9.5 out of 10 and will give the lucky new owner a lifetime of service.

Don’t let this beauty pass you by! Another example in this condition will be extremely hard to find!
We were told that his is the scarce variant with the "floating tongue" only made for 3 or 4 years!
I have several more photos available and if you are seriously interested get your email address through to me and I will send them to you direct.
