Adriaen Van Ostade (1610-1685) etching, circa 1647(Godefry 41, Bartsch 41), 8th state (of 8). [signed in the plate] In very good condition, with (small) margins all around, and clear impression, with traces of inky plate edges and wiping scratches still printing outside of the image on wove paper , later edition (late 18th Century ).

Adrian van Ostade December 10, 1610 — bur. May 2, 1685) was a Dutch genre painter and a gifted etcher-print-make.
He was the eldest son of Jan Hendricx Ostade, a weaver from the town of Ostade near Eindhoven. Although Adriaen and his brother Isaack were born in Haarlem, they adopted the name “van Ostade” as painters.
