This is a delightful example of Japanese metalcraft, a finely detailed brush rest in the form of pine branches with three pinecones. An elegant display for a scholar's desk. Japanese, late Edo Period, around 1830. Approximately four inches by 1-3/4 inches by 1-1/2 tall.
