Antique handpainted Delft blue and white clock. Made France 19th century. Measures just over 16 inches high. Classic shape with elegant waist and deep curves, the sides arching around to form legs. The entire surface is beautifully handpainted in shades of blue with landscapes, waterscapes, people, insects, boats, windmills, mountains, flowers and foliage. Moulded scrolls around the border highlighted in deep blue. Even the back is richly painted. The enamel dial is very finely painted with blue numerals and delicate ornamentation and is surrounded by a golden coloured metal frame with repousse scrolls. The key, although not shown in the ''photos, is present. There is an artist signature under the clock - see ''photos. Good condition. The clock works.
