Historical Context: This coin was minted by the ROMAN EMPIRE during the reign of CONSTANTINE II (337-340 AD). Constantine II was the eldest son of Constantine the Great and Fausta, was born in A.D. 314. At 18 he distinguished himself in a campaign against the Goths. On the death of Constantine the Great, he received Spain, Gaul and Britain as his sphere of government. He was later killed in an ambush.
