Hand made engagement card with punched work lace effect of two columns and scrolls in the paper , and two fine gauze-backed panels with cut-outs of flowers, and hand painted pieces all forming a sort of collage including a butterfly and a bird bearing a note. Underneath the bottom rose is an applied little scroll reading "Name the Wedding Day". Card measures 14 cm by 9.5 cm (about 5.1/2 inches by 3.3/4 inches). Very good condition. Probably circa 1850s plus.
