Staffordshire Porcelaneous bust of Sir Isaak Newton (1642-1727), modelled as a Roman personage, with thoughtful expression, naturalistically coloured and wearing a green robe with purple sash, on a tall plinth with spreading foot.
Unmarked, Staffordshire Circa 1800
References: This bust is very close in composition to the 18th century bust by Louis Roubillac (1695-1762). Similar plinths were used on Woods-type busts, and in a similar white body that is bordering on porcelain, making it tempting to attribute this also to Woods.
