Set of 8 dinner plates plus 1 (9 total) in a most unusual shade of amethyst. These plates are 10.75" in diameter, and an 1" high. There are two bands of coin gold, each band etched in an appealing Art Deco motif. The coin gold bands surround a swath of amethyst sponge work. These plates are all marked Royal Bavarian Hutschenreuther, and Coin Gold. The mark dates from the late 1800's-early 1900's. As the etching is Art Deco, I would date the plates to the 1930's. Condition is very good. The only imperfections are signs of use visavis some loss, minor, the the inner gold band chiefly, and a few knife marks. No chips, flakes or hairlines. These plates are impressive; and perfect for the more innovative decorator.
