Circa 1890 Aesthetic bowl or basket with handle, “Meriden B.Company, 1853”-medallion mark, heavy, silverplate, overall hammered surface and backgrounds.
Decorated in mixed metal style – interior with inlaid hummingbird, two dragonflies and primrose floral sprig, well detailed raised side band of bluebirds, insects, spider & web, poppies w/ foliage, reticulated rosette gallery with hinged handle with finely detailed rosettes, fans, daises and foliage, heavy reticulated footed base with foliage and cartouche.
9.5” dia, 5” tall. With handle- 10.5” high.
Condition – excellent surface, solid, nominal surface marks. 791h
