Antique French pendant charm locket made of 18carat gold, with carved quartz cameo mask, agate/citrine, rubies and diamonds. Made in Paris, France, circa 1860 in the style of Giuliano,early 19th century. Approx 7/8 inches high, not including the loop. Weighs 12-13 grams. Exquisitely made locket / pendant. One side has an oval carved mask. Incredible detail to beard, moustache and eyes. He protrudes from an oval base with black enamelling alternating with gold-enclosed reserves holding fabulous pink-red rubies. The black enamel sections each have a tiny diamond, colette set in their center. Sides of the locket have a crenelated, textured design. THe gold reserves from top and bottom protrude over the edges. THe loop is set with diamonds and rubies. THe 2nd side of the locket has similar black enamel reserves alternating with gold 5-sided sections, containing raised gold patterns. In the center is a large agate/citrine. THe locket opens to reveal two beautiful reserves for holding a picture/hair of a loved one. Hallmarks shown on both loops (see ''photos) for Paris circa 1860.
