This is a beautiful item and complete and original.Most one sees are bits and pieces or marriages in fact I have not seen another complete one for sale on the internet or anywhere else for that matter.The chain weighs 410gm and is of high silver content.
It has a matching Tughra (the Ottoman mark of the current sultan of the period)on every part including the chain.
Ottoman silver with Tughra is very rare as most was melted down for coinage so only ecclesiastical pieces and pieces owned by the very wealthy and well to do have survived.Of all the antiques it has been suggested one should collect are Middle Eastern and Asian antiques also Mughal pieces all of which of quality are becoming rare and prices rising rapidly.I will be listing two other tughra marked pieces and a superb 18thc clerics three sided seal,no Tughra but high quality silver.
