Pair of beautifully hand hewn steam bent elm wood antique Chinese officials hats chairs. These traditional Chinese chairs received their name from the shape of the back top which has the profile of the a traditional Official's hat. Includes carved prayers and mythical motifs on backs and finely crafted mortise and tenon joints made by master artisans (see photos). Circa 1770s. Dimensions: 49" X 23" X 17" each.
