A very impressive, large, rustic, late 19th century knife with a wonderful stag antler grip made by George Butler Company, Sheffield, England! 15 ½” overall with a 9 ½” blade. Antler grip with no chips or cracks, German silver ferrule and nickel butt cap. The blade is stamped in an oval below a crown; George Butler & Company, Trinity Works, Sheffield, England, with trade mark in center. Also stamped in larger very faint letters in center of blade is “Toledo Blade”. Blade has wear from use, but is in very presentable condition.
Great for frontier dress!
This knife was made by a very respectable firm that was established in the 17th century and is a very collectable piece. Bowie knives made by George Butler command very high prices.
