Painting on Canvas by Well Listed German Artist Klaus RICHTER (1887-1948)
Price: $1750.00
A fine and beautiful harbor scene oil painting on canvas by Klaus RICHTER (1887-1948). Klaus was a very successful artist who painted portraits of Hermann Goering and Adolf Hitler during WWII. This painting is of a very classic almost Holland like dock scene. It is in excellent condition and is circa 1930. Quite large as it measures 37'' by 30'' in frame and approximately 31'' by 25'' at sight. The painting of Adolf Hitler made in secret by artist Klaus Richter, who was painting a portrait of Reichsmarshall Hermann Goering when Hitler visited him on very short notice in 1941. The artist observed Hitler from hiding during his visit to Goering, and was singularly unimpressed until he witnessed the horrific change in Hitler''s face when someone spoke the word ''Jew.'' The later painting of that face, which is on the front cover of The Psychopathic God-Adolf Hitler, by Robert G.L. Waite, shows the horribly contorted face of a man seized by a paroxysm, his face distorted with rage and his neck veins bulging as though he would have a heart attack, a man who was enraged down to his very ''soul.''
