Beautiful antique bronze sculpture depicting a nude nymph with grapes lying down asleep taking a nap after drinking too much wine. She is depicted on her side with a smiling face nude embracing grapes and partially covered with grapes and grape vines. Towards the back of the sculpture are 2 grape baskets that open to become inkwells. This is a wonderful desk top sculpture for the advanced bronze enthusiast or inkwell collector. The sculpture is signed P. Philippe 1870-1930. Philippe created some of the finest Art Nouveau and Art Deco bronze sculptures. His works are rare and very sought after. This is an exquisite example of this artist's sculpture. It measures 11-1/2 inches wide, 6 inches deep, 3-1/4 inches high. It is in excellent condition . Guaranteed to please as are all our items.
