Antique pin cushion and match strike in the form of an old shoe / boot with a puppy dog and cat. Made 19th century - possibly 1880 - 1910. Measures 3 3/4 in length and approx 2 inches high. Made of silver plate / silver coloured metal. Original old velvet fabric forms the cushion. On one side is a series of ridges, which form the match strike. The pin cushion is formed in the shape of an old shoe or half boot with a puppy dog - looks like a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - trying to climb up the back and a kitten peeping out of a hole in the front of the shoe. Great detail - see even the nails underneath the boot. The pin cushion / match strike is in good, original condition. Some of the plating has worn underneath, but this seems to add to the old shoe look. no dings/dents/damage of any sort.
