Two matching antique cast iron mail slots with their hard-to-find matching interior trim, circa 1900. Both the interior and exterior slots feature crisply cast acanthus leaves with volute detail. The sloped “roof†on the interior plate has a beaded border with an intricate foliate design in the center. The exterior plates read “Letters†against a textured background. These letter slots are in excellent condition. Each letter slot measures 8†by 2-1/2†overall, with an opening of 4-7/8†by 1-1/16â€. The trim is also 8†by 2-1/2â€.
